Cutting Preference
Kolkata Bhetki Square Fry Cut consists of tender, boneless pieces of Bhetki with a mild flavour, delicate texture and white-to-pale-pink flesh. The uniform square cut makes it particularly convenient for Bengali-style fish fry, crumb-coated fry, pan-frying and grilling. It is a popular choice because the flesh is relatively firm yet flaky after cooking.
Carefully cleaned and square-cut from fresh Kolkata Bhetki fillet. Naturally firm, moist and tender flesh with a clean, mild aroma. Kept chilled to preserve freshness, texture and natural taste. Best consumed fresh on the day of delivery.
Approximately per 100 g : Bhetki is a relatively lean, protein-rich fish. Indian food-composition data reports approximately 15.3 g protein, 0.3 g fat and 68 kcal per 100 g edible portion, while other seafood references report somewhat higher values depending on fish source and preparation. For 500 g raw edible Bhetki, that works out roughly to: Protein: ~76 g Fat: ~1–2 g Energy: ~340 kcal Carbohydrates: negligible Good source of phosphorus, potassium, selenium and B-vitamins. Note: These figures are for raw fish. Once coated and deep-fried, calories and fat will increase substantially because of the oil and coating.
Bhetki fillets were cleaned really well, no bones left behind. Will order weekly for sure.
